Children’s Day Treatment – Baldwin County
Program helps children reach their full potential
Children’s Day Treatment in Baldwin County is designed for children and adolescents whose behavioral and emotional problems hinder their normal development in school and at home. Our goal is to help students reach their full potential.
A cooperative program between AltaPointe and the Baldwin County Public Schools, day treatment serves children in first grade through 12th grade and is staffed by BCPS special education teachers and AltaPointe’s treatment team.
All classrooms are located on the AltaPointe Children’s Outpatient Fairhope campus. Admission requires a psychiatric diagnosis and approval by the school system. Students must have a minimum IQ of 75 for a referral.
Day treatment offers the following services:
- Academic instruction in a therapeutic classroom by certified teachers provided by BCPS
- Individual, family, and group therapy with a master’s level therapist
- Social skills training
- Basic living skills training
- Activity therapy
- Arts and crafts
- Psychiatric assessment and ongoing medication management
- Transportation during the academic year
- Summer day treatment
