A Comprehensive Behavioral and Primary Healthcare System
Founded in 1957 as Mobile County Community Mental Health, AltaPointe Health has grown into Alabama’s most extensive integrated healthcare system, delivering over 1.4 million behavioral health, primary care, and substance misuse treatment services annually to more than 45,000 patients.
Comprehensive Care Model
AltaPointe offers a full continuum of care, including:
- Behavioral Health Services: 20 outpatient clinics.
- Primary Care: Through Accordia Health, a Federally Qualified Health Center with eight locations, providing integrated physical and mental health services.
- Hospital & Crisis Services: Two psychiatric hospitals, BayPointe Hospital in Mobile and EastPointe Hospital in Daphne, along with one behavioral health crisis center.
Medical Education & Leadership
AltaPointe’s team includes 28 physicians and 16 physician extenders who also serve as faculty for the University of South Alabama College of Medicine’s Department of Psychiatry. The organization is led by CEO J. Tuerk Schlesinger.
