EastPointe Hospital
EastPointe Psychiatric Hospital
At EastPointe, we provide hope and healing for children and adults in need of psychiatric care. Located in Daphne, Alabama, our hospital welcomes patients from across the region; including nearby cities, counties, and other states.
Admissions
- No referral needed: Many families reach out to us directly, but we also accept referrals from hospitals, emergency departments, therapists, and physicians.
- Voluntary admissions: If you or your loved one is seeking care, call AltaPointe’s Access to Care line. Our team will listen, provide a phone assessment, and guide you through the admissions process. The average stay is 7–9 days.
- Involuntary admissions: When a higher level of support is needed, our staff works with the probate courts of Mobile, Baldwin, and Washington counties to recommend the best treatment plan. The average stay is 14–20 days.
Insurance
EastPointe accepts all major insurance plans and Medicare, so families can focus on what matters most, getting the right care.
After admission
Every patient at EastPointe receives a full psychiatric evaluation and 24-hour clinical care. Our goal is to help patients return home — or to the least restrictive level of care — as quickly and safely as possible, with a strong aftercare plan in place.
Our care team includes psychiatrists, nurses, therapists, recreational therapists, psychiatric residents, certified nursing assistants, and behavioral health staff — working together with patients and their families. Family therapy and physician meetings are available upon request. We also consult with primary care providers when needed to ensure coordinated care.
Psychiatrists meet with patients every day to evaluate progress and manage medications. Patients also take part in individual, group, and recreational therapy to build skills and better understand their illness.
EastPointe offers secure outdoor spaces for relaxation and therapy. Patient rooms are semi-private, and the hospital’s calming design — with soothing colors, artwork, and comfortable furnishings — creates a warm, healing environment that feels far from institutional.
Discharge planning
Planning for discharge begins early in the treatment process. From the time of admission and after each interaction, our healthcare professionals work with the patient to ensure support services are in place prior to discharge. This may include medication monitoring, therapy, and substance use treatment.
Visiting EastPointe Hospital
Having visitors at EastPointe is important for many of our patients. It is a way to maintain a connection with friends and family. It also reassures them of the patient’s health and safety. Visitation rules in a psychiatric hospital differ from those in a medical hospital for therapeutic reasons. Visiting hours are limited, so patients may focus on their treatment. Limiting visiting hours also helps to maintain safety and structure in the hospital units.
To schedule a visit with a patient, family members and friends must call EastPointe’s main phone number at (251) 378-6500 at least 24 hours before they would like to visit. They should be prepared to provide the patient’s medical record number during the call.
Visiting hours:
- 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. for 30 minutes on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday
- Children under 12 years of age are not permitted to visit
Visits are limited to three visitors per patient unless approval has been granted for more visitors to have a family meeting or therapy session. Visitors should leave purses in their vehicles. No food or drink may be brought to patients during visits or allowed to be taken onto the unit.
Patient Pricing
EastPointe Hospital strives to provide the best possible patient care and believes in pricing transparency. In compliance with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) requirements for hospitals to post a list of their standard charges online in a machine-readable format, we have posted our prices in a CSV format file for download.

EastPointe Leadership
EastPointe Hospital opened its doors in July 2012 as the only free-standing adult psychiatric hospital in the Mobile Bay region. Initially serving adults, EastPointe now provides care for both children and adults experiencing mental distress. It offers the highest level of behavioral support to patients in psychiatric crises who require 24-hour support and supervision. We provide evaluation and treatment to individuals who may be at risk to themselves or others or who may be unable to care for themselves because of their psychiatric symptoms. EastPointe is licensed by the Alabama Department of Public Health.
Operated by AltaPointe Health, EastPointe’s experienced healthcare professionals provide treatment that focuses on stabilizing psychiatric symptoms, preventing psychiatric commitment, and ultimately improving quality of life.
