Tyler Byrd, DO, received a bachelor’s in biology from Birmingham Southern College in 2011. He completed his medical training at William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine, Hattiesburg, Mississippi, and his general psychiatry residency training at the University of Alabama Birmingham. Dr. Byrd is passionate about teaching, scoring in the top 2% nationally on the PRITE (Psychiatry Residency in Training Exam). During his residency training, Dr. Byrd moonlighted as a psychiatric consultant and provider for Cullman County Jail, Alabama Department of Corrections, and Cullman Regional Medical Center Emergency Department. After graduating residency, Dr. Byrd served as Director of Psychiatric Services for Cullman Regional Medical Center – helping build a successful outpatient clinic and consult service.
