Lee Stevens, MD, has joined AltaPointe Health and will be working at EastPointe Hospital. Dr. Stevens graduated from University of Texas Medical School and was board certified in family medicine.
During his 25-plus years in the army, Dr. Stevens served as an emergency medicine physician and became board certified in emergency medicine. After serving in Desert Storm, he changed his focus to the field of mental health. He did a two-year residency in general psychiatry at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, MA, followed by several years of achieving board certification in addiction medicine, child and adolescent and geriatric psychiatry. Dr. Stevens maintains all psychiatry board certifications. He retired from the army reserves with the rank of Colonel in 2009.
Dr. Stevens has advocated for equality in the coverage of mental health services. He is a lifetime member of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and the American College of Emergency Physicians.
