Children’s Day Treatment – Mobile County

Program helps children achieve success

BayPointe’s West Mobile Academy is designed to teach and counsel children in kindergarten through high school who are unable to maintain appropriate behaviors in a public school setting. Our main goal is to help these children reach their full emotional and academic potential. Education and mental health professionals work with each child to identify and address the causes of negative behaviors.

In a therapeutic classroom environment and structured day treatment setting, the program helps students achieve academic success so they can transition back to a regular classroom setting. Located on BayPointe Hospital’s safe and secure campus setting in west Mobile, the program is funded by the Mobile County Public School System and the Chickasaw, Saraland and Satsuma city school systems.

Certified teachers offer classroom instruction and testing that correspond with the Alabama Course of Study, the MCPSS and city school systems’ curricula. Concurrently, AltaPointe master’s-level, licensed therapists deliver treatment designed to address the emotional needs of the students. Each student is assigned a case manager who ensures they receive the AltaPointe and community services necessary to improve educational and emotional conditions.
