Carol A. Mann, APR, has served as AltaPointe’s director of public relations since 2006. She is an accredited public relations professional, and past president of the Southern Public Relations Federation (SPRF), the Public Relations Council of Alabama (PRCA) and the PRCA-Mobile Chapter. She represented SPRF on the governing body of the examination for accreditation in public relations, the Universal Accreditation Board (UAB), from 2001-2004.
Mann was inducted into the SPRF Hall of Fame in 2013. In 2012, she received PRCA’s Grover C. Smith Lifetime Achievement Award – the organization’s highest award, honoring distinguished service to the profession and to PRCA. She received the SPRF Professional Achievement Award in 2004 and the PRCA Philip R. Forrest, Jr. Practitioner of the Year Award in 2004.
Mann’s public relations work has earned more than 40 awards from SPRF, PRCA and other professional communication organizations.
She is a graduate of the University of South Alabama and served on the USA National Alumni Board from 2005-2011. Mann is the professional adviser to USA’s Public Relations Student Society Association (PRSSA) and USA’s PRCA Student Chapter. She has served on numerous community boards and committees including the following organizations: Crimestoppers, United Way of Southwest Alabama, Salvation Army Christmas Committee, Camp Rap-A-Hope, Lifelines Counseling, Ashland Place United Methodist Church, the Better Business Bureau, and Mercy Life.
