Transitional-Age-Teens-GardeningTransitional Age Residential Program

Transitional Age Residential program serves young adults, ages 17 to 22, in a spacious 10-bed, co-ed facility. The spacious grounds provides residents the opportunity to participate in various outdoor activities such as gardening, sporting events and cookouts. In addition to standard indoor features, the home includes amenities such as computers, televisions, books, games, arts and crafts.

All referrals must be approved by the Alabama Department of Mental Health.

Staffing – The home is staffed by a therapist, case manager, nurse, residential manager and behavioral specialist who provide individual, group and family therapy, psychiatric services, case management and 24-hour supervision.

Activities – Residents take part in school, work, field trips and activities designed to improve their levels of functioning. After patients graduate from the home to independent living, short-term counseling is provided as well as long-term case management to ensure a successful transition.

Adolescent Independency Program

Through a contract with the Alabama Department of Human Resources, AltaPointe provides intensive services and support to young adults, ages 16 to 21, who are under DHR care. This home-like facility in Mobile County can accommodate 10 young men and offers standard indoor amenities and plenty of space for outdoor activities.

Activities – Residents take part in school, work, community outings and activities designed to improve levels of functioning and eventually live independently.
