Conference teaches techniques to help pre-teens and teens resist drugs and alcohol
Adults wanting to help our youth win the battle against drugs, alcohol and negative influences will want to attend “Understanding Pre-Teens and Teens:
Strategic, Value-Based Intervention Techniques,” on Wednesday, Sept. 5 and Thursday, Sept. 6, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Mobile Convention Center.
Noted speaker and author Janice Gabe, MSW, LCSW, will teach parents, educators, counselors, and other professionals several value-based and multi-system intervention techniques for middle school age children and adolescents from age 14 to 18.
CEUs are available for all skill levels and approved by the Institute for Continuing Education.
Topics for Wednesday include “Understanding the Middle School Child” and “Kids & Pot: What’s a Professional to Do?” Thursday’s topics include two sessions on “Value-based Approaches to Conduct Disorders and Family Therapy.”
