Overview

Access to Care is the single point of entry into the majority of AltaPointe’s programs. Individuals seeking admission to an AltaPointe service may call the Access to Care Department at (251) 450-2211 for assistance. Access-to-Care provides the following services: telephonic screenings, intake appointments, referral to other community resources, crisis triage, transition of care coordination, and insurance and financial resource verification.

Through a telephone screening system, trained staff members assess an individual’s needs for care and determine the most appropriate service. Upon initial contact, the Access staff members identify consumers according to three risk potential levels, including:
Routine Appointments scheduled within 10 to 30 days;
Urgent Appointments scheduled within 24 hours;
Emergent Appointments scheduled within 1 hour.

The telephone line is accessible during regular office hours from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Crisis coverage is available after office hours and on weekends.
