AltaPointe values consumer input and considers it one of its most valuable resources. The Consumer Council Committee ensures consumer involvement in treatment standards and is one platform through which consumers have a voice.
The Committee members are consumers, and AHS staff members are available for support. The Committee meets every month at various program locations. The meetings provide an informal setting where consumers may speak openly, asking questions and making suggestions about delivery of care and other issues.
Consumer Needs and Human Rights Committee
The Consumer Needs Committee comprises staff members representing various programs from throughout the AltaPointe continuum of care. It meets bimonthly to consider consumer input regarding service delivery and unmet needs. The group also identifies trends by department or provider, and ensures consumer involvement in the selection and monitoring of performance improvement indicators.
The Committee’s other considerations include reviewing:
- the results of Consumer, Family & Agency Satisfaction and Quality of Life surveys and recommends training, as needed
- and summarizing consumer complaints
- systems to determine whether they are consumer friendly and easily accessible
- consumer rights issues
