Admission

Through a network of providers, AltaPointe offers inpatient, outpatient and residential care for children, adolescents, adults and senior adults. To receive any level of service, an individual must demonstrate certain psychological or psychiatric symptoms consistent with the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM). This reference work provides a classification of mental disorders, criteria sets to guide psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals through the process of diagnosing mental disorders. Consumers will display significant symptoms that interfere with the ability to function in at least one area of life and a need for ongoing care based on a history of highly restrictive mental health services or the judgment that they are at risk.

Important to the consumer’s success is the ability and willingness of parents, family members or appointed guardians to cooperate with treatment planning and recommendations. Adults admitted to any program must sign a release of information form at admission if they desire AltaPointe’s staff to share patient health information with family or friends.
