It is a pleasure to lead a team that steadfastly pursues the integration of mental healthcare in our region into the mainstream of healthcare. To accomplish this, we have combined the brightest professional and leadership staff and state-of-the-art technology with adherence to the highest clinical standards of care and sound business principles. Ultimately, we want to ensure that our consumers receive the excellent care in a seamless continuum of outpatient, residential,and inpatient settings.

We cannot accomplish this in a vacuum. To achieve this goal we have brought together as partners the community’s hospital systems, the University of South Alabama College of Medicine, Auburn University School of Pharmacy, and the Alabama Department of Mental Health and Mental Retardation. We continue to build on our relationships to solidify our place in the regional healthcare network.

We apply the principles of vision, structure, and cultural alignment to maintain our focus and to move together as professionals and leaders toward our goals. Every day, at every opportunity, our leadership team and board of directors are to be credited for their contributions to the progress we have made and the successes yet to come.

At AltaPointe, we are eager to learn from others and have traveled across the country to seek consultation and adapt our treatment services to the latest evidence-based practices. In addition, we meet regularly with our consumers and families to maintain our connection with those who matter most.

It is because of our consumers that we have worked diligently to improve the efficiency of our operations. We have developed a centralized access-to-care department. We were pioneers in the development of system-wide electronic health records and TeleHealth that allows our psychiatrists to consult remotely with patients in the rural parts of our service area. It is equally rewarding to be able to provide a hospital for children, adolescents, and adults, which our staff developed and has operated since 2002. In addition, our Joint Commission accreditation illustrates the importance we place on applying the highest clinical standards to every service we offer.
